StormAudio takes part into the new RP22 Immersive Audio Guidelines

CEDIA, in collaboration with the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) has finalized a new set of recommended guidelines for immersive audio system design: the RP22. The objective of this document is to define an objective set of performance criteria for home audio systems, redefining how we quantify system performance. StormAudio is very proud to have contributed its expertise to this game changing project.
The RP22 immersive audio guidelines are the result of a more than three-year collaboration with both CEDIA and CTA receiving feedback from experts in the fields of film, audio manufacturing, immersive audio standards, and residential technology integration. Sébastien Gailleton, Head of Product of StormAudio is one of the authors of this document.

“It has been an incredibly rich experience these past three years spending time with so many talented and experienced individuals, scientists, integrators and manufacturers working together to define what makes the sound reproduction in listening spaces optimal.

Identifying the key parameters and assembling them into the RP22 Immersive Audio Design Recommended Practice is an achievement that will change the quality of any room design.” says Sébastien.

The new recommended practice for immersive audio design (RP22) redefines how we quantify system performance. This is the first time that system performance metrics are defined, instead of vague, subjective packages or cost models.

With RP22 integrators can design to objective criteria, manufacturers know their products are functioning as intended, and customers understand the breadth of what they are paying for.
